#1 It’s a perfect compromise between building strength, endurance and all-around fitness.
Thanks to kettlebells, we can focus on both – strength and body building, but also work on our endurance.
Ballistic training such as swings, cleans, snatches are a great way to build dynamics and power. Those exercises are like plyometrics but under the load.
All thanks to the characteristics of kettlebell training. For most exercises we only use one bell, which forces unilateral work and significantly improves our body perception and core strength (mainly anti-rotation).
#2 Kettlebells are great for total body conditioning and improving your body composition
Kettlebells are famous for their flows, involving combinations of several exercises into one chain, so we can move smoothly from exercise to exercise, significantly increasing the set time and the under tension muscles time.
This has a great effect on both – increasing endurance and aerobic capacity, while at the same time resulting in a greater calories expenditure during the workout and long after.
#3 It is an excellent introduction to other sports
Kettlebells perfectly complement any training, both in terms of power and stabilization work. Working with weightswith a shifted centre of gravity makes work easier and more creative. For example, kettlebells are often used by fighters because of the characteristics of taking and delivering punches, rotational work or endurance.
#4 Mindfulness practice
There’s no better way to train your attention than practicing heavy Turkish Get-up’s. You need to stay focused when a big bell is hanging over your head, don’t you?
Training with kettlebells requires us to be very focused and careful. A shifted centre of gravity can make a small mistake cost us much more energy, or worse. Performing hybrid exercises, such as “Clean to Reverse lunge” or “Snatch to Windmill” means that we also have to make a mental effort not to get the sequence wrong.
That’s why kettlebell training is a great choice after a long,
tiring day.
#5 Kettlbells are cool (and get even cooler in a group) !
Training with weights is fun! Doing Get-up’s, Cleans, Snatches, Windmills and then putting them into the previously mentioned flow is a lot of fun. The endless number of training combinations makes us enjoy the movement which we want to control completely.
Why is training in a group even cooler? Coaches notice the positive spirit of the common fight during group classes and also – time goes much faster. This is crucial and very motivating for achieving one’s goals.
